Student walking across campus with parents

Combining practicality and passion

Having served on the board of trustees at their alma mater, both Cindy and John Lee (parents of Margaret Lee, ’14) know how important annual giving is—especially for private liberal arts-based universities like Loyola University Maryland. They made their first donation to the Loyola Evergreen Fund when Margaret was a first-year student and have given consistently since, increasing their gift each year.

“Margaret’s entire experience has been wonderful,” says Cindy. “Loyola offers everything a parent could want for their child, in an environment that supports our daughter in her faith. That was key for us.”

In honor of the comprehensive campaign, Cindy and John are planning a special five-year gift that will support the day-to-day needs of Loyola through the Evergreen Fund as well as specific campus ministry initiatives.

“We decided to support two areas within the University because we understand that annual giving plays a vital role in Loyola’s financial viability, but we also wanted to contribute to something that we’re passionate about,” explains John. “Campus ministry is near and dear to our hearts.”
