Letter from the President

Bright Minds. Bold Hearts.

Father LinnaneDuring its 160-year history, Loyola has grown from an all-male commuter school to a university of men and women who come from around the United States—and even the world—to experience the Jesuit education Loyola offers. But, even as Loyola has evolved, in many ways the University is the same as it always was—steadfast in its commitment to education of the whole person, creating men and women for others who learn, lead, and serve.

That essence of Loyola University Maryland is captured so beautifully in the campaign name: Bright Minds. Bold Hearts.

From its founding to its future, Loyola has benefited from the people who have believed in and supported the University. As we look ahead to all we plan to achieve through this comprehensive campaign, I think of our students, faculty, and alumni, who are both intellectually strong and steadfast in their belief that the unique educational experience Loyola offers is distinctive and valuable.

Through the financial support of those who have such faith in Loyola and the Jesuit education we offer, Bright Minds Bold Hearts will ensure that the Loyola we know and love will only be strengthened and enhanced. Bright Minds Bold Hearts is essential in shaping Loyola’s future and ensuring that the University will serve generations to come.

I invite you, as someone who cares about—and believes in—that future, to embark on a journey of exploration and celebration. Many members of the Loyola community are taking a bold step to create an even brighter future for Loyola. Be bright. Be bold. And join us on this journey.
